Batman v Superman: Batman's "origin" Revealed?

The folks over at Badassdigest have revealed what MIGHT be the back story of Batman in the upcoming Batman v Superman movie. Take this with a grain of salt, and this is most definitely SPOILER territory, so, read at your own risk:

"My sources indicate that when BvS opens Batman has existed for close to thirty years, which would place Wayne in his 50s (which is why I expected more grey in Affleck's hair). In this version Batman is still an urban legend, a creature of the night, and no one has ever taken his picture. But he's had plenty of adventures, and the Batcave includes a memorial centered around a tattered Robin costume"

Sounds interesting, doesn't it? I guess we'll find out in 640 days!!!

Batman Eternal #8 Review

Batman Eternal #8: Is Stephanie Brown an Assassination Target?
-First off, apologies for missing another issue. I can't promise that it won't happen again, but I'm gonna do my best to keep up with these review(and Batman news)on a regular basis. All right, let's get to it!
-After last week's disappointing issue #7, I wasn't holding out high hopes for this issue. MAN, I was pleasantly surprised!! This issue is cover to cover Batman kicking ass!! There's some great scenes with Stephanie Brown and her battle with her father. There's also a great subplot featuring Jason Bard and the heat he has with the rest of the Gotham City Police Department. I could go on & on, but I don't want to spoil the whole issue if you haven't read it yet! The ending is really shocking, and it now I'm REALLY excited to see where this takes the series. GREAT ISSUE!!

Batman Eternal #6 Comic Review

Batman Eternal #6:  Something hellish is brewing in the tunnels under Arkham Asylum and Batman's going to need the help of The Spectre to stop it!!
-Wow! AGAIN, I'm missing an issue review-wise. Sorry about that. I'm gonna try and keep up with these as best as I can. On to this issue: This issue turns the story on it's ear!! Batwing joins the fray and things take a VERY supernatural turn here. I was pleasantly surprised, as I didn't see this coming a mile away. I also didn't think that there would be MORE story lines thrown at us after 5 issues, but I was wrong. But, it's one hell of a different direction that the book takes, and that's not a bad thing. I'm just wondering how all these paths are going to end up crossing. This issue is weaker than the rest, but still an awesome read. Go grab it!!

New Batman The Animated Series Toys Revealed!!!

Yesterday MTV put out the first look at some more of the figures in the upcoming DC Collectibles line of highly articulated Batman: The Animated Series action figures! Mr. Freeze and Two-Face are part of wave 1, and The Joker, Robin and Poison Ivy are part of the second wave, due to come out in December of this year. I don't know about you, but I think these look SPECTACULAR!!! If you click on the picture to make it bigger you can see where these figures are articulated, and I have to say one of the reason that I like these is that the articulation is REALLY well hidden, and doesn't take away the look and style of the figures. Can't wait for these to come out!!

BATMAN REVEALED!!!!!!

Yesterday, Superman vs. Batman director tweeted the first picture of Ben Affleck as Batman standing beside the Batmobile. I have to say, I am a BIG fan of this look and costume for Batman. The suit looks great, I like the shorter ears, and it doesn't look as "rubbery" as previous movie Batman costumes. As for the Batmobile, it looks to me like the 1989 Tim Burton Batmobile, but I like it. Hopefully soon we'll get a better quality picture so that we see all the details. What do you guys think?

Batman Eternal #4 Review

Batman Eternal #4: Batgirl battles Batman as Jim Gordon's troubles take a turn for the worse!!
-Holy crap! Did I really NOT review issues 2 & 3? I guess not! OK, sorry about that, and look fro reviews of those issues in the days to come. BUT, let's get back to this issue. It's another great one! Batgirl and Batman but heads over Batgirls investigation into Jim Gordon's actions. Let's just say that there's a chink put into the steel that is their relationship and leave it at that. But, the conflict is GREAT!! Meanwhile, Jim Gordon basically accepts his fate ( and punishment) which is a little out of character for my tastes, but let's see where it goes. There's little mention of the just-started gang war between the Penguin and Falcone, just a couple of pages, not much at all. Still, the good far outweighs the bad, so I would, like always, pick this one up.

Batman Eternal #1 Review

Batman Eternal #1: From start to finish I thought that this was a FANTASTIC issue!! The thing that I loved most about this issue is that the story is EXCLUSIVELY Batman. It couldn't work for any other characters. You couldn't plop Superman or Green Arrow or Spider-Man or Captain America into this-it just wouldn't work. Snyder and company do a fantastic job of setting up this mystery, and I don't know about you, but it's got me hooked! However, I'm trying to NOT get too wrapped up in the mystery quite yet. I think, at this point, that enough clues haven't been dropped about the identity of the "rooftop villain" to even make an educated guess.
-I'm gonna make this review short and sweet and give this issue a solid A. GREAT way to kick off the series and I am beyond excited for issue #2!

Welcome to 2014-The Year of Batman!!!

That's right, 2014 marks the 75th anniversary of the debut of The Dark Knight!! It was way back in May, 1939 that Detective Comics #27 hit the stands, and it's been one wild Bat-ride ever since. Even though it's Batman's birthday WE are getting all the presents. There's TONS of comics on the way, a bunch of toys(including a Michael Keaton Batman figure that we've ALL been waiting for!),

at least 3 appearances by Batman in direct to DVD animated movies, and that's just the tip of the iceberg.
-FIRST UP!! The party starts this Wednesday, January 8th, with Detective Comics #27!

-This issue features an all star creative team including Brad Meltzer, Bryan Hitch, Scott Snyder, Paul Dini, Frank Miller and many more!! This issue comes with 6 variant covers, and some of them actually look pretty cool. Make sure you're the first one in the door at your local comic store this Wednesday to pick up this piece of Bat-History!!
